As a self-proclaimed wild soul, I have spent the majority of my adult life searching for true meaning and purpose in my career. I spent three and a half years at a university majoring in forestry, but never fully committing to it because there wasn’t enough creativity to keep my wheels turning. A “little break” from school turned into months of soul searching. A whole lot of praying and some heart to hearts with friends and family members later, and the idea to apply at a local flower shop came up.
In 2018 I was hired on in a traditional flower shop located in Astoria, Oregon. A blend of my affection for the outdoors combined with my love for design and creativity? To say my eyes were opened to my passion would be an understatement. I was lucky enough to train under a talented floral designer who taught me many valuable skills and design styles. As much as I was learning in this space, I always knew that I wanted to be self-employed and execute my own vision for a business.
Enter March of 2020 and Olive & Honey Floral Company was born. I was hired on by some of the sweetest couples and was blessed with an amazing wedding season, where I got to design some of the dreamiest florals.
As 2021 came to a close, my husband and I decided to pack up our house and move into our trailer…. We kind of do that a lot. Without a proper space, I put Olive & Honey on hold, but kept working for another traditional flower shop while we found our next house. Now that we are settled, I am ready to get Olive & Honey back up and running, and I am SO excited to pour my heart and soul into your event(s). Nothing quite lights my fire like getting to create beauty and work with beautiful & fragrant & wild, wild florals.
If you’re looking for florals that feel authentic to your style and your soul- that will be fit to run up a mountain with, or will boldly stand out amidst a city skyline, I’m your girl. These flowers are for the wild ones.
